Valve + freemie inserts ($12.90 SGD) bought from /Mamagoose on Qoo10 Tried and tested.įreemie deluxe set bought from ($140 SGD) Update (25/07): Dry your freemie tubing with a fish tank pump. Otherwise everything’s just going to get tangled and messy. The freemie tubings are pretty long, so it’s ok to have a slightly shorter spectra tubing. Also, half-ing the tube means that I have spare! I cut the spectra tubing to the above mentioned dimensions because when I used the entire tube, it was way too long. Step 6: Plug in your freemie tube into your collection cup and you’re ready to pump! Step 5: Connect the freemie tube with the quick connector to the other end of the 5cm spectra tube. Step 4: Connect the thicker end of the backflow protector to the 5cm spectra tube. Step 3: Connect to other end of the shortened spectra tube to the thinner end of the spectra backflow protector. Step 2: Connect one end of the shortened spectra tube to your pump. Firstly, I cut 5cm off each tube, then half-ed the remaining tube. Step 5: Attach the funnel to the collection cup – ensure that the holes align (as per the pic).įor me, I chose to use the S9+ for it’s portability, battery life isn’t too bad, lasts about 5-6 (20mins) pumps, I usually use it till it shows 1 bar and I charge it, I don’t wait till it becomes flat.īecause I own the S1, I try my best to mimic the pump settings, but on the S9+, there isn’t speed adjustment, it only has suction adjustments. Step 4: Fix your valve base to the bottom of the funnel, with the valve aligned to the semi-circle on the funnel. If you’re using the maymom valve like I do, you have to fix it in the direction I did, otherwise when you close the cup, it wouldn’t fit. Step 3: Fix your valve to your valve base. Push it all the way in and flatten the inserts till it flushes with the wall of your funnel. Step 2: Insert the rubber insert into your funnel, aligning the holes. Step 1: Fold your rubber inserts into half by pushing into the centre of it using your index finger. ![]() Here’s a walk-through on how to set up the collection cups followed by the spectra set up!Ī quick pictorial overview on how it generally works – if you’re required to use an insert for your funnels. The maymom valves are really easy to use and wash – the yellow part can be sterilised and the white flap just needs to be washed with soap and hot water. My home set up is a spectra S1 with Maymom flanges 19mm and 21mm, therefore I tried my best to replicate the flange sizes on my freemie by getting the insert – that’s the only way to get the best yield.Īs for the valve, I was told by a consultant previously that the rubber valves were difficult to wash, broke really easily, and dirties really easily, and I was recommended to use the maymom valves. Quick explanation on the extra stuff required. Things I used from the set – collection cups, 25mm funnels, valve base, freemie tubes, quick connectors.Įxtras – 21mm freemie inserts, valves (maymom) There’s a whole bunch of stuff that comes in the set, but here’s what I used (had to buy some extras). I bought this entire set-up all thanks to a holiday trip, and also for pumping at work. Here to share about how I assemble my freemie collection cups (deluxe set) to my spectra S9+. I eventually found Freemie collection cups. Would definitely love to share on our travel stories, especially traveling with a 2.5 months old bubba, but that’s a story for another day.īefore my trip, I did extensive research on pumping on-the-go and how to maximise, what’s the best way etc. It felt like a push on the restart button and switching gears up to full speed. Just started work last Monday after being on maternity leave for 16 weeks.
